Cara H. Woolet, JD

Cara graduated from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!).  She is a fourth-generation Houstonian and returned to Texas where she received her law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston.  During law school, she clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, volunteered as a legal intern for the non-profit Assistance to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA), and served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association.  Cara began her legal career as an in-house counsel.  She gained extensive experience in business and employment law, later serving as general counsel for a global leadership development firm, whose clients include many Texas hospitals.  Cara was also an adjunct professor of business law for Lone Star College.

Since joining Myers Doyle, Cara has dedicated her practice to the diligent representation of Texas healthcare providers in all areas of medicine and dentistry facing a variety of alleged malpractice cases, including medical and dental wrongful death, failure to treat, surgical errors, delayed diagnosis and misdiagnosis, anesthesia and medication errors, and neurologic injuries.  Cara also defends claims against assisted living and nursing homes.  In addition to handling alleged malpractice cases, Cara has helped to successfully defend physicians and dentists before their respective licensing Boards and collaborate with physicians and dentists to draft comprehensive reconsiderations to claims from healthcare benefits providers and other Texas government entities.
